The solo exhibition <Because I Fell Asleep...> tells the story of a protagonist who, after falling asleep on the last bus, wakes up at the bus terminal in the middle of the night and struggles to make their way home, gaining insights during this process. While planning the exhibition, I borrowed some directing methods from film; <Banwol 1> and <Banwol 2> serve as inserts that describe the scene of an event that has occurred or is about to occur.
The Banwol Industrial Complex at late hours is a peculiar space where only the streetlights shine along the road, and everything else is silent. After dozing off on the bus and ending up in the Banwol Industrial Complex, I felt this place was empty and cold. I thought it was similar to how this vast, capital-accumulating space, where our desires collide fiercely, transforms into something cold at midnight. I considered that one of the various forms we possess is akin to how this space navigates between different values, somehow maintaining its center.
